2009 World Cup Info Released
PSP Events proudly presents THE event of the year, the 2009 World Cup. The largest professional paintball tournament on the planet will debut at a new location this year, Fantasy of Flight, October 7th - 11th.
Home to over 40 rare and vintage aircraft, Fantasy of Flight is the world’s greatest aviation attraction. The facility offers a variety of guided tours including visits to their working restoration and maintenance areas. You can climb inside the cockpit of a Corsair fighter for a battle over the Pacific and then take a spin on their state-of-the-art hang glide simulator in the Fun with Flight area.
Located in Polk City, FL, Fantasy of Flight is conveniently located between the Orlando International Airport and the Tampa International Airport. Servicing over 52 million passengers a year with over 1,000 arrivals and departures daily, the two airports offer a multitude of flight options for everyone traveling to the event.
The World Cup is the crown jewel of tournament paintball; more players, more spectators, more vendors, more buzz, more significance than any other event in the industry. The event also hosts the year’s largest tradeshow where everyone that’s anyone comes to debut their latest and greatest gear for the upcoming season. It is the must attend event of the year for teams and paintball enthusiasts around the globe.

Chicago Open Paintball Tournament – Wednesday Scores
June 24, 2009 by Stephen
The battle for Chi-Town is definitely heating up. The games have been action packed and the barometer is reading out 100 degrees. Todays games have featured a few blow outs (sorry Mystery Machine!) and some close calls. Check out the photos below and then read on below for the latest paintball news, scores and gossip from the field.
- Mutiny took the Vipers 7-2.
- Vicious stuck it to the Mystery Machine 7-0.
- XSV took a 7-0 win over GC Mafia.
- Atlanta Edge had a slow one, winning 5-3 over Mutiny.
- RNT defeated Badlandz Mystery Machine 6-1.
- San Diego Aftermath II took the Vipers 6-1.
- Vicious beats out Edge, 7-1.
- RNT Allstars walk away, 7-0 against GC Mafia.
As far as gossip goes, the Rhodes brothers from Atlanta Edge showed up to the event, walked the fields and left 5 minutes before the match against Mutiny. Word has it they quit the team and went home. Many may recall that when the Rhodes brothers previously played with Tampa Bay Damage in D1 last Chicago, they quit mid event. Two for two!
Adam Geis from Mutiny played hard against Atlanta Edge. After the match, EMT’s diagnosed him with heat exhaustion. This is a great reminder to drink pedialyte and stay hydrated!!

Win Free Team Entry into the USPL
The US Paintball League is pleased to sign on two feeder tournament circuits to the 2009 USPL Affiliate Paintball League Program. The League has teamed up with Eryn Hardwick from the Riot Tournament Series and Kristen Kleist from the Old School Challenge (OSC).
The Riot Tournament Series (RTS) has been in existence since 2004 and hosts 7 man, 5 man and 3 man competitions on the west coast. The last event was at Warped Paintball Park in Southern California www.warpedpaintballpark.com and the winning teams took home a free entry fee to the USPL D3 Division. Congratulations to the Division 4 winners, Warped Kids and the Division 3 winners, Las Vegas EFFECTS. The next RTS event will be held at the Compound Paintball Park at Lake Ellsinore August 1st and 2nd. Register your team today to win a USPL entry along with other great prizes. www.riotseries.com.
Kristen Kleist has been running the Old School Challenge (OSC) circuit for 10 years. The last event was held at Velocity Paintball Park where Gat Factory Team took home first place in the 5 man and won a free entry fee into the USPL Pump class division. Playing with a Pump action marker is a true skill and is where most of the top Professional Players started playing. Pump tournaments also cost less for the teams when it comes to shooting Paintballs. The next OSC event will be held at Gateway Action Sports June 20th and 21st in Clarksville TN. Go to www.osc.com for more info.
The USPL has a dynamic Affiliate Paintball League Program similar to the NPPL Program of past and is proud to be working in conjunction with the Riot Series and OSC. The program is designed work with tournament organizers to promote competitive Paintball at the local and regional level. USPL Commissioner Chuck Hendsch stated "Paintball competition starts at the local field level. It is important for the industry to support and endorse quality city and regional events where teams can train and someday compete at the Pro level."
